Penfolds 389 2006

Bought 10 bottles in Nov'09 owing to the fantastic offer price in NTUC and very good promotion from Penfolds. Basically, for purchases of S$600 and above, Penfolds will give you 6 bottles of Bin 28 free and a free Penfolds book - The Reward of Patience. You will not find this book in the Singapore Bookstores. On top of that, they throw in a wine carrier, cork opener and a drip foil. Not to mention the good price of S$63.85 each and with WineClub discount of 8% .... Do your Maths, this is probably the best price you will get for a Bin 389.

On the nose, the wine is spicy, smell of black fruits. Hmm.. Smooth, with hint of berries and plum aftertaste. After taste not long though ... Pure fruit extraction, not much oak.
